Editor's Notebook

CAPPER'S quilts express the thoughts, vision of its readers.

We're pleased to finally be able to share some of the wonderful quilts that have been composed from blocks readers submitted to CAPPER'S. The four shown on this page are ones that have been completed. One more quilt is currently being quilted by the talented quiltmakers of the Kansas Capital Area Quilt guild, and several blocks that came in already quilted are being prepared as separate hangings.

We're grateful to each and every reader who contributed a block. Having so many unique and beautiful blocks put together has seemed to draw the CAPPER'S community together in a new way.

Now we have embarked on the adventure of bringing the quilts to communities that have requested them.

Like any human endeavor, scheduling the times for quilts to be in particular communities has not been without flaws. Some dates for community events have changed, and a time or two, we have overbooked. So, we're constantly changing the dates, as needed. If a quilt is scheduled for your community, and you need to know the dates, you can call our clerk, Elaine Kroh, for information.

Since some events overlap, not all the quilts can be sent to every event, but we have made every effort to see that the quilts that have blocks made by people in a certain area will be on display there.

We published some early-showing dates in the Feb. 4 issue of CAPPER'S, and we will continue to publish them monthly, as they are confirmed.

We are proud of the work you have done, and we hope that you all will get as much pleasure seeing these as we have.
